The Cat’s Meow

Hey everybody! Been a minute since I posted anything, but I’ve got a short one for you today. Without further ado, please enjoy…

A Letter to My Cat

My dearest Claire,

Your incessant rubbing

and shedding

on the bathroom floor

simply must come to an end.

It is with great displeasure

that I announce

the official closing of the door.

Now, I have to go to the store.

Love always,

Sam

On The Face of The Clock

Good morning, one and all! I hope everyone is doing well on this chilly, or if you’re in the southern hemisphere, very hot, February day. There is much to look forward to and that is the spirit of the little guy I wrote about today. I hope you’ll enjoy. Without further ado…

On The Face of The Clock

Ticking tock,

sounds of the clock,

and one plucky little metronome

who doesn’t want to wait at home.

Snow on sand

as he passes by

and with his little eye,

perhaps he’ll spy

that little old lie.

The world, it says

that he can’t do

those things he dreams

and wants to do.

He’ll go outside,

he’ll have adventures

and all new ventures

with no more censures.

Up the mountain,

round the bend,

through the pass

until the last.

He’ll be free,

and he’ll be fair.

Oh,

won’t he be

his own little outcast.

Groggy

Good morning, everyone. I am tired today. New poem though! I hope you like it. Oh! I did see a guy who looked exactly like Jeffrey Dahmer. May have been his ghost. Who knows! There’s my funny little anecdote for today. Without further ado…

Groggy

Sick in the head,

but not as you think;

Tired, foggy, heavy and glum.

Perhaps from me it could be washed

with all those contents of a bottle of rum.

Tired heads bring tired eyes

and so forth pour those tired lies

from upturned lips that sink so down,

once a smile

and now a frown.

Wear a mask

and make your task,

feel it though:

The bite

of an asp.

This one’s going to make you last.

Summer Has Arrived

Good morning, everybody! With it getting warmer and greener outside, there’s a lot to look forward to. Please enjoy the poem today. It’s a little different from others I’ve written, like I said before. Very upbeat!

Summer Has Arrived

Summer has arrived!

With its warmth and its charm,

Just like the taste of a good chicken parm!

~

Summer has arrived

with its light breezes and sunny days.

You don’t have to care what anyone says.

~

Summer has arrived,

the emails read,

telling a story of workplace socials

and retirement parties.

~

Summer has arrived.

It’s time to come and dance!

Let’s just hope we have the chance.

Short Today

Afternoon! A short one for y’all today. I like it and have ideas for some more short form stuff soon. Enjoy!

Grocery List

Always needing

onions,

eggs,

cheese,

and honey.

Whether it’s sweet

or something funny,

I’m always hungry.

Time for food!

Time for dinner.

Cooking for myself

and I always feel a winner.

Enjoy the day!

It won’t last

but even still,

with more like it,

it’ll be more good days

sometime soon.
