Unseen

Afternoon, folks. It’s about time I posted something again. Been too long. I’ve got a sweet little one for you cause I’ve been busy out there living life. Hope y’all have a good read. Without further ado…

Unseen

Light again,

I saw.

The end of the tunnel.

As the walls disappear before me,

falling,

cascading away,

I see now

that there is light all around.

I see now

that is has been long since I opened my eyes.

Being able then, to see.

What a wondrous change that is.

Leaves flutter all around

and sunshine begets

all those little critters

that trounce without a sound.

It is under that light, in that light, by that light

that I have seen.

A world that feels just a little more clean.

~

Oh, what a world I have seen.

Reconciliation in the Dark

Afternoon, everybody! You’ve got a brand new poem coming straight at you, from yours truly. It’s all about something you may understand. Without further ado…

Reconciliation in the Dark

And so it was

that the darkness was inspired by the light,

and in this…

inspiration,

balance was found.

The passenger,

the voice,

the one that tells.

Shine the light and quell the spells.

For a while.

Chaos in the dark

begets peace in the light

and terrors fall

to utter mundanity

as balance denies calamity.

Do others see so clearly?

Do others see that faces in the dark

appear quite differently

than in the light,

yet remain unchanged?

Reconciliation

in this time of need

despite that desire

for something to bleed.

Brilliance of the Erstwhile Mind

Good afternoon, everybody! It’s been a while since my last post – my apologies. If it’s any consolation, I’ve certainly been in the kitchen. Just cooked up a hell of a poem for y’all today and I sincerely hope that you enjoy it. Let me know what you think in the comments below and don’t forget that you can follow, donate or contact me with links at the bottom of the “About Me” page. Without further ado, please enjoy…

Brilliance of the Erstwhile Mind

Awash as he is in prismatic violence,

assaulted by waves of color and silence,

the man opens his mouth to let out a scream

and nothing comes out but bubbles and steam.

~

Lacking lungs to breathe

and breath to seethe,

this cold and empty violence

rips and tears the skin away

in shrieks of angry violets.

~

Unabated, the silence grows louder;

his ears fill with crushing deference;

humility.

Screeching as the banshees do.

~

Fleshless, violescent, iridescent hell;

it scrapes the skin from his skull,

exposing his tissues to the void.

Forced to reticence and destroyed.

~

What beauty comes from this?

The ending then of bliss?

The dream of but a single kiss?

~

Then, there, in his final moments

he’ll dream of the beginning,

the middle,

the end.

New Year.

Welcome to a new year, friends and all. I’ve not written in quite some time, nearly three weeks to my remembrance. I’ve got something for you that I hope makes up for the absence and rings that funny little new years bell. No more tears, no more fears. I’ll be 23 this year. Everybody hates you when you’re 23. Please enjoy the piece today. Without further ado…

Transience of a Midnight Passerby

One day I wish to wake

from this ever-present, all-encompassing sliver of a dream.

I rest here, without laurels

on remnants of those things left behind

by former residents of the periphery.

It is not that there is nothing here.

It is only that this place is transitory,

it is a placeholder,

a way-station for all those who might find their way.

I lie here,

untethered from the place that comes before and the place that comes in consequence,

on an old bed of straw and linens

expertly and serenely tied to an aging cedar frame.

I’d hoped to find a little more peace here.

Perhaps I’d hoped to divine some meaning from the splinters I’d get sleeping in this worn and tired bed-frame.

Those little wooden splinters tell the story of a thousand years lived in a world so loved that every single lover has died right there by its side

no matter how ancient she might become.

It is only that I lack the knowledge and wisdom required for further reading, lest I might learn how this old cedar frame came to be.

That,

I don’t think,

would be permitted.

Soon I’ll move on,

washing away my time here along with the stains in my bedding and my clothes.

This is nowhere,

certainly not somewhere,

and a place that no one can truly stay,

for only it is no one that lives here

and He I have not been able to find.

Before those wooden halls and vaulted ceilings call me home,

I’ll find one thing so worthy of a King.

Primordial Primogeniture

How simply does one become a god? To gain rightful omniscience and see the world for what it is? To know the world as it should be? I bring to you a story of a boy whose choice to become a man started with a devastatingly cold shower, one that kickstarted his dead heart and brought the warmth back to his chest. There is nothing but the light within him now.

Primogeniture

The cards are not so black and white

like pictures in a movie,

but blue and black and purple too

like fields of flowers,

oh so new.

The dice are set

upon a table.

As they roll,

stuck up on the gable

are seen so many heads

missing but a label.

Gamble, gamble, gamble, ramble…

A man so deeply cut

running through the bramble.

Proprietors chase

at fervent pace

only for so to

win, against you,

that race.

Pitter patter on the pond.

Rain drops

and dew drops

flit upon a single little palm frond.

Nearing the beach,

a god i so beseech,

to help me in my time of need.

I am ignored,

for it is time

for me to accede.

This firstborn son

becomes The Sun.
