Howdy folks. Got a poem today about what it feels like to date in Gen Z, my own personal generation and hell. I hope you all like it, and maybe I even hope it’ll bring you a little closure in your experiences. Love you. Without further ado…
“It’s fine.”
Every spoken and unspoken word,
every gentle touch and little kindness,
every metered care and filtered love,
sinks below the line of,
“It’s fine.”
~
I felt a cool breeze through the window,
fingers gently pushing through my hair;
it was the first time in a long time,
but the wind changes.
I suppose, “it’s fine.”
~
I thought to myself for a moment
that perhaps life was all fine,
that this time it worked in favor of mine.
In the end, I suppose,
“it’s fine.”
~
Never been so wrong before,
never been so cared for,
was I just alone at the end of the world,
searching for a lonely pearl?
Dramatic again, really, “it’s fine.”
~
Every gaze into the depth of your eyes,
the aching of a thousand lies,
I hoped for deeper depth ties
but truth above all,
and in the end, “it’s fine.”
~
Broken by the back of a coward,
so many somethings about the first time you cowered,
the first time we showered,
all of it ends in something so dour,
and all I can say is just:
~
“It’s fine.”
